Logo

A variety of logos created for various clients over the past few years.

Some of them were created for other creative firms such as Myron Creative, Houlala! Communications, Combo Creative, and LeapZone Strategies.

Vancouver 2010 Olympics

I created the first edition of the graphics standards manual for the official emblem for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic games. I also collaborated with the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (VANOC), BC Ferries, and the BC Government to create wrapping for three of the world’s largest double-ended ferries. This involved coordinating with international resources while meeting stringent guidelines.

In addition, I accepted an official role on the Olympic Torch Relay. This involved brand protection, liaising with sponsors, and working with 200+ communities across Canada as I researched and planned numerous events.

Innovative Fitness

I conceptualized, designed, and created new branding for Innovative Fitness, a high-end personal training company. Deliverables were advertorial in nature and included brochures, posters, sport jerseys, and signage.

Austeville Properties

Austeville Properties is a family-owned rental and leasing company based in Vancouver.

Having already commissioned a fantastic site design by Christina Lauer, Austeville Properties needed the work adapted into a mobile version.

Hawksworth Restaurant Group

I’m always excited to work with new clients that work in a field I love. Fun fact about me: I love food. Controversial stance, I know.

A fellow designer referred the Hawksworth Restaurant Group to me when they needed branding collateral. This collateral included everything from holiday gift card design to product packaging.

Pearson College UWC

The Lester B. Pearson United World College of the Pacific (Pearson College UWC) is one of 14 United World Colleges (UWC) around the world. The mission of the UWC movement and of the school is to “make education a force to unite people, nations and cultures for peace and a sustainable future”.

Pearson College needed a 65+ page Annual Report that celebrated the diversity the college had helped foster throughout the last 40 years. Unfortunately, there was a mere two weeks to deadline. The client’s input was instrumental in meeting this challenge, and they were more than pleased with the results, which were delivered on-time and beyond expectations.

Rainmaker Advisors

Rainmaker Advisors provides advice for sustainable economic development and social license strategies. The Vancouver-based consultant group wanted a brand identity that was professional, yet approachable for their wide swath of clients, which includes First Nations communities, governments, and both public and private sector entities.

Vallée Auto Volkswagen

Vallée Auto Volkswagen recognized that being a dealership in a small city means that a global campaign may not effectively reach their audience. As such, they chose to produce their own ads, ones that would speak to their specific demographic.

One of my oldest clients, the ads I produced for them over the course of our working relationship have resulted in a substantial increase in foot traffic to their business.

Pixel & Cie

It’s important that an ad agency’s outward facing materials reflect their unique style and appeal. With that in mind, Pixel & Cie contracted me to create a unique yet recognizable “anti-logo.” The result was custom typography that elevates the “x” as an overarching design feature. The agency’s evolving brand and site reflect the logo’s influence.

Garaga

Garaga is a leader in their industry, and I had the pleasure to work with them as a consultant and art director. During my time there, I helped to: conceptualize and manage brand identities, manage advertising campaigns, design brochures, produce videos, create websites, and develop booth materials for trade shows.

Silicon Cowboys

Silicon Cowboys is a local systems integration firm with a focus on the creative industry. They wanted a unique way to send out their annual Christmas letter – one that would stand out, appeal to their audience, and communicate their industry.

With that in mind, I came up with a minimalist design based around a (unrealistic) Apple keyboard shortcut — CMD + * — and the copy, “Let it Snow.”

Uniglobe Travel

Uniglobe Travel needed an ad campaign that communicated the wide variety of services the travel agency offers. In addition, it had to be applied across a variety of media, including postcards, Facebook, newspapers, and bathroom postings.

My solution was a typographic design that listed services, but did so in a way that was visually appealing and (literally) part of a bigger picture. Good marketing manages to inform on multiple levels, all without being an eyesore – a principle that is particularly prevalent in this piece.

Personal Projects

It’s important to indulge in your own projects. Besides being a fun creative exercise, it allows me to experiment without concern for boundaries and budget.

The Saint-Prosper project was based around my hometown and the various places there that meant a lot to my childhood. I even sold some of these t-shirts to a few locals.

Sidenote: Designing t-shirts is something I love to do – and an item on my professional bucket list – so if you have a project within that realm, please, get in touch and let’s talk about it!

My award-winning door design adorns the historic Woodward’s building in Vancouver.

My t-shirt designs for Wilco and Arcade Fire were both finalists over at Threadless.
